LAURA PENICHE

Originally from Mexico, Laura has been a  Dreamer in Colorado since 1997. She always knew she wanted to be a filmmaker.  Her film education started in high school through the Digital Film Program of Denver Public School's Middle College of Denver, which gave her the opportunity to write/direct various short films.  Laura continued her film education and earned a degree in Writing and Directing for Film and Video from the Colorado Film School, where she produced the short documentary film: NO ONE SHALL BE CALLED ILLEGAL (Denver Film Festival 2011).   She is now a full time mom and community organizer with Together Colorado's immigration team and with Get REAL of South Aurora.   TANIA MONARCA is Laura's first feature length documentary.       

 

Originalmente de Mexico, Laura ha sido una Dreamer en Colorado desde 1997. Simpre supo quizo ser cineasta.  Su Educacion en el cine comenzo en la preparatoria por medio del Programa de Cine Digital en el Colegio Medio de Denver de las Escuelas Publicas de Denver, donde tuvo la oportunidad de filmar varios cortometrajes. Laura continuo su educacion, obteniendo un titulo en la Escuela de Cine de Colorado, ahi produjo el corto documental: NADIE DEBE SER LLAMADO ILEGAL (Denver Film Festival 2011).  Ahora es madre de tiempo completo y organizadora comunitaria con el equipo de immigracion de Juntos Colorado y Get REAL of South Aurora.  TANIA MONARCA es el primer documental de larga duracion de Laura.

 

 

 

 

LINDSAY TAUBMAN

Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Lindsay Taubman began her filmmaking career while attending the University of Colorado at Boulder. While studying abroad in Lima, Peru, Lindsay realized her passion for social justice and became interested in documentary filmmaking. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Film Studies, Lindsay has worked at various local commercial and documentary production companies like, Design Onscreen and High Noon Entertainment, as well as for the Starz Denver Film Festival.

 

Nativa de Denver, Colorado, Lindsay Taubman comenzo su carrera de cineasta mintras asistia a la Universidad de Colorado en Boulder.  Mientras estudiaba en Lima, Peru, realizo su pasion por justicia social y se intereso en hacer documentales.  Despues de sacar un titulo de Estudios de Cine, Lindsay trabajo en varias producciones locales comerciales y documentales  y varias compañias como Design Onscreen y High Noon Entertainment, como tambien para el Festival Internacional de Cine de Denver.

 

 

 

 

 

 

ALEX MEADE

Alex has a BSBA in International Business with a focus on Social Entrepreneurism from the University of Denver and a degree in Writing and Directing from Colorado Film School, rated among the top 25 film schools in the world. His passion for filmmaking began in Brazil after observing it being used as a means for community empowerment.  He has since engaged in documentaries, commercial and other cinematic works that create a voice for awareness and change. 

 

Alex estudio Negicios Internacionales con enfoque de Empresario Social de la Universidad de Denver y con un titulo de Cineasta de la Escuela de Cine de Colorado, calificada una de las mejores 25 escuelas de cine en el mundo. Su pasion por el cine comenzo en Brazil despues de observar su uso para empoderar a la comunidad.  Desde entonces ha participado en documentales, comerciales y otros projectos cinematicos que crean una voz para la concientizacion y el cambio.
